著者の石澤良昭氏は上智大学学長であるとともに上智大学アンコール遺跡国際調査団団長をされている方である。この本は、調査団を成果をベースにカンボジアのアンコール時代について簡潔にまとめられている。
この本は少し古い本で、石澤良昭氏は同じような本を何冊か出されているようだが、私はこの本をまず最初に読んだので、ほかの新しい本も読みやすかった。
